Coca Cola Cup – The final count down |

Anorthosis and APOEL are counting hours for their last meeting at the pitch for the Coca Cola Cup final which would be held tomorrow afternoon at GSP Stadium Nicosia.Both teams want the winning for different reasons. Anorthosis wants to make the double for this season while APOEL wants to ensure by their winning their Europe Campaign, which would be one of the main targets of the club for the next season.The doors of GSP will open on 17:30 for the fans to enter as it would be expected a vast attendance from both sides. |

The Cyprus Women’s Volleyball team are currently in Malta for the European Championships 2008-09, Small Countries Division A. They are competing against Iceland, San Marino and the hosts Malta. The top two teams from Pool A and Pool B will proceed to the final tournament. The Men’s Volleyball team are also competing in the Small Countries Division of the European Championships and will start their campaign from 6-8 June also in Malta. They will be playing against Iceland, Scotland and Malta. |

Ethnikos Achnas: Our priority is next season |

Even Ethnikos Achnas had an exceptional appearance at Intertoto Institution 2 seasons ago, it seems that the refugee’s club will considerate their participation for this season.Ethnikos Achnas Chairman Mr. Kikis Phillippou has mentioned that Intertoto is not the club’s priority and they are going to get their final decision by next Wednesday.From the other hand it seems that it’s some kind of frustration against Ethnikos coach Mr. Toza Sambourich, who probably will not continue at the bench for the next season. |

Omonoia’s spring clearance |

Other six players have been released from Omonoia’s football club as the new administration set high targets for the next season.Omonoia is one of the most popular Cyprus Clubs with the biggest fan club island wide. As the recent years Omonoia didn’t met their targets they have decided to take immediate action to get prepared for next season.Elias Stogiannis, Ismael Ba, Magno Moselin, Dimitris Leoni, George Theodotou have already been history, while Kakoyiannis, Kafou, Chailis, Veiga and Dombrasinovic, have not been included in next seasons squad. Omonoia has announced nine new signings, while they are planning to sign up four more players. |

Anorthosis Famagusta and APOEL have qualified for the finals of the Coca Cola Cup. APOEL was kept alive after the 1 goal score at the first tie, while at the second tie, manage to lead Omonoia by 2 goals to nil.Anorthosis had an exceptional performance against Apollon, and even with 10 men manage to hummer Apollon by leading 4 goals to one.The man of the match was Frousos who rewarded Anorthosis 3 goals. |
